About SPARKA
Where STEM meets Amateur Radio.
SPARKA is an Amateur Radio learning project that uses science, technology, engineering and mathematics to help people understand the radio concepts they are studying, testing and applying.
The idea
Radio brings together waves, electricity, electronics, computers, antennas, mathematics, geography, atmospheric science, satellites, construction and experimentation.
SPARKA is meant for a mixed audience—from children who are just becoming curious about radio to adults who have never studied the subject before. Lessons start in plain language and add technical detail in layers.
Amateur Radio is the center of the site. STEM provides the tools to explain what is happening, why it happens and how that knowledge can be used on the air and at the workbench.
